The Gold Coast Cultural Precinct

The Gold Coast City Council is committed to supporting culture and the arts on the Gold Coast and has embarked on a journey to develop a draft masterplan for a new Gold Coast Cultural Precinct at Evandale.

Located approximately 2.5km west of Main Beach at Surfers Paradise, the Evandale site is currently home to the Gold Coast Arts Centre, the Gold Coast City Council Chambers and administration centre, as well as a number of businesses.

The proposed cultural precinct will capture the imagination of our community and enrich the lives of all those who visit. It will promote and nurture creativity and diversity of our community, helping to reinforce the Gold Coast as a great place to live and visit.

The community was asked to provide feedback on the draft masterplan. The period for providing feedback closed on 30 April 2011. Results of the consultation were positive and the outcomes can be viewed here.
